Dandy - IT Implementation Engineer

About Dandy

Dandy is transforming the massive and antiquated dental industry—an industry worth over $400B. Backed by some of the world’s leading venture capital firms, we’re on an ambitious mission to simplify and modernize every function of the dental practice through technology. As we expand our reach globally, Dandy is building the operating system for dental offices around the world—empowering clinicians and their teams with technology, innovation, and world-class support to achieve more for their practices, their people, and their patients.

About the Role

We’re scaling a new vertical, and we’re hiring our first dedicated IT Implementation Engineer to accelerate our growth. You’ll operate with real autonomy and report directly to senior leadership. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the right things are done by the right people—whether that’s managing an implementation, triaging customer support tickets post-implementation, or eventually managing a team you’ve helped build. If you get energy from bringing order to ambiguity, hold yourself accountable to outcomes rather than activity, and can communicate clearly to leadership when the plan needs to change, this role was built for you.

What You'll Do

  • Remotely execute technical implementation for dental practices from contract signature through go-live, owning quality and time-to-live at every step.
  • Improve the process by managing our kanban-style workflow, tracking status, prioritizing work, and identifying opportunities for automation, improved communication, and increased productivity.
  • Configure and troubleshoot integrations with major dental practice management systems (PMS) including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Curve, Open Dental, Denticon, and others.
  • Set up and support remote access tools and network configurations at the practice level.
  • Communicate directly with IT Managed Service Providers (MSPs) hired by dental practices, introducing Dandy, sharing compliance and security documents, and building relationships.
  • Manage virtual machines hosted by AWS, supporting the Windows servers that run our ETL pipelines.
  • Handle inbound and outbound contact with doctors, office managers, and practice staff via phone and email, ensuring clarity and building trust.
  • Manage inbound support volume (including occasional phone inquiries) and route or resolve issues appropriately.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Customer Success, Product, and Sales teams to identify patterns, close gaps, and enhance the onboarding experience.

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years in an IT implementation, technical onboarding, or field/remote support role.
  • Hands-on experience with dental practice management systems (PMS) and understanding of practice technology operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of remote access tools (e.g., TeamViewer, RemotePC, Splashtop, AnyDesk) and network fundamentals.
  • Experience managing a high-volume workload (e.g., 20-40+ concurrent implementations) while maintaining high quality.
  • Clear, confident communicator, effective with both IT directors and front desk staff.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in a dental, healthcare, or health tech environment.
  • Familiarity with dental imaging software or intraoral scanner platforms.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and other healthcare compliance frameworks.
  • Background in, or interest in, sales engineering or solutions consulting.

Benefits

Dandy offers a comprehensive, inclusive benefits package tailored to each country, typically including healthcare, dental, mental health support, parental planning resources, retirement savings options, and generous paid time off.
