Summary of Role: Commercial Lines Account Executive / Sr. Account Executive (Remote - East Coast)

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Lines Account Executive/Sr. Account Executive with generalist coverage experience, ideally with expertise in servicing niche Eldercare Facilities clients (including long-term care, senior living, independent living, assisted living, nursing homes, home health, rehab, and hospice). You will play a critical advisory role, establishing high-level client engagement and relationship management for middle-market and complex clients. This position requires the ability to speak authoritatively on coverage analysis, claim review, and risk management efforts, as well as an understanding of alternative risk structures and critical thinking to provide impactful insurance program solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage primary client relationships and develop customer service plans, focusing on growth and retention of the assigned book of business.
  • Establish and maintain a high level of client trust through consistent contact and proactive issue resolution.
  • Initiate client meetings to strategize for the renewal marketing process and advise on optimal coverage alternatives.
  • Review contracts (ownership, management, property leases) to identify insurance requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Negotiate coverage and pricing with carriers and wholesalers based on a thorough understanding of client exposures and historical claims.
  • Prepare renewal submissions, including loss analysis, exposure changes, and recommended coverage options, and conduct renewal presentations.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of the marketing/underwriting process, including market selection, presenting client operational stories effectively, summarizing claims, and documenting carrier clearance.
  • Maintain high-level, consistent communication with carriers/wholesalers to secure comprehensive quotes within target timelines.
  • Act as a strategic negotiator to secure comprehensive coverage and competitive premiums.
  • Develop strong relationships with business partners, including carrier underwriters, wholesalers, and other service providers.
  • Travel occasionally (2-3 times per year) for client meetings or office visits as required.

Organizational and Personal Development:

  • Prioritize and manage workflow and timelines to achieve goals.
  • Document correspondence, electronic documents, and pending activities within the Management Operating System.
  • Engage in and encourage consistent professional communication with clients, carriers, and staff.
  • Stay informed about industry insurance information, training, new markets, technologies, and legislative changes affecting the eldercare industry.
  • Provide mentorship and oversight to assigned account associates and account managers.
  • Demonstrate potential and desire for growth into a staff leadership function.

Job Specifications/Requirements:

  • Property and Casualty insurance license required upon hire. Professional designations (CIC, AAI, CISR, CPIA) are preferred/helpful.
  • Ideally 10+ years of Property Casualty servicing experience.
  • BA/BS degree preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of insurance coverages and the ability to communicate this knowledge clearly to clients and underwriters.
  • Strong written, verbal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and self-manage workload.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • EPIC experience preferred, or experience with other agency management systems.
  • Must maintain a private workspace with high-speed internet when working from home, ensuring responsiveness and minimizing personal interruptions.
