About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Sales Engineer to join our team in the United States, preferably on the East Coast to facilitate overlap with our EMEA team. This role is crucial for managing the technical aspects of our enterprise sales process. You will engage directly with prospects, understand their business and technical challenges, and architect solutions using Liquibase products. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence technical sales strategies and contribute to the company's expansion.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers to develop integrated business and technology account plans.
  • Take ownership of all technical issues throughout the pre-sales engagement cycle.
  • Develop and execute technical strategies and tactics for Liquibase solutions.
  • Deliver compelling customer-specific solution presentations and demonstrations.
  • Demonstrate Liquibase solutions to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Design and manage solution evaluations to prove fulfillment of business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Deeply understand prospects' business processes, information flows, challenges, and competitive landscape.
  • Identify specific business/technical problems and propose Liquibase-driven solutions that deliver measurable business value.
  • Architect innovative solutions leveraging third-party and Liquibase technologies to create new use cases and revenue streams.
  • Contribute to continuous team learning and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

Business Acumen:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or MIS preferred.
  • 5+ years of successful pre-sales experience in enterprise software, with a deep understanding of the enterprise software sales lifecycle.
  • Proven experience running proof-of-value engagements focused on measurable customer outcomes.
  • Experience working within a sales organization and managing the technical sales cycle.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 35%.
  • Must be located in the United States, East Coast preferred.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of DevOps and Agile processes.
  • Experience with cloud computing and related technologies.
  • Proficiency with two or more database platforms (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience with at least one scripting language (e.g., shell, Ruby, Groovy).
  • Experience with Windows and Linux systems.
  • Familiarity with Source Code Management tools (e.g., Git, Subversion, TFS).
  • Experience with Build Automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab Runners, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience with Deployment Automation tools (e.g., Azure DevOps Release Pipelines, Harness.io, Octopus Deploy).
  • Ability to partner with Product Management to provide customer feedback and influence roadmap priorities.

Nice to Haves:

  • Database application development experience.
  • Experience collaborating with Marketing on value messaging and technical positioning.
  • Familiarity with Liquibase or other database schema management tools.
  • Experience with modern cloud and Kubernetes environments.
  • Experience running or contributing to webinars.
