About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Junior Cost Analyst to join our Houston team, supporting a major energy program focused on complex offshore and deepwater developments. This client-facing role offers a hybrid working arrangement, blending approximately three days per week in the client office with remote flexibility. You will be instrumental in supporting cost tracking, reporting, and analysis for a portfolio of critical offshore projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support cost tracking and reporting for offshore wells and deepwater project scopes.
- Assist in analyzing cost performance, identifying trends, variances, and potential risks.
- Consolidate and validate cost data from multiple sources for accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare regular cost reports, dashboards, and summaries for project teams and stakeholders.
- Support forecasting activities and contribute to cost control processes.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to understand cost drivers.
- Assist in developing and improving reporting tools, templates, and processes.
- Communicate findings clearly through structured presentations and updates.
- Maintain organized cost data and ensure adherence to reporting standards.
- Fulfill SOX control responsibilities as applicable.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in cost analysis, project controls, or a related field within construction, energy, or infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, finance, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of cost management principles and project delivery.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with data analysis/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Ability to manage and interpret data from multiple sources.
- Excellent communication skills for clear and concise information presentation.
- Collaborative and proactive team player, effective in client-facing environments.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a project controls and cost management career.
