About the Role

Meta is looking for an experienced, organized, and collaborative Economic Development Manager. This role is central to negotiating large, complex economic development deals and understanding the intricate legal agreements involved. You will be instrumental in the strategic growth and operational success of our data center facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the economic development project lead for new data center site selection and existing site expansions.
• Conduct thorough diligence on economic development programs and state/local taxes.
• Partner with site selection and legal teams to negotiate economic development agreements with state and local governments and economic development agencies.
• Liaise with internal departments including data center design, construction, legal, finance, accounting, and tax.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to understand project parameters essential for data center economic development discussions.
• Lead various data center-related projects as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15+ years of experience in state and local taxes and economic incentives.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Economics, Public Policy, or related field).
• Significant contract negotiation experience.
• Proven financial analysis and project management experience.
• Experience negotiating, communicating, and representing the company’s interests with economic development personnel, government officials, and service providers.
• Experience coordinating internal staff and external consultants.
• Demonstrated precise communication skills.
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews).
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements).
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies.
