Your Responsibilities

• Build and operate highly available Citrix virtualization environments – your primary focus.
• Support and advise clients on the operation of sophisticated Microsoft server landscapes.
• Leverage your experience with Terminal Services and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
• Take primary responsibility for administering and monitoring complex client platforms and executing changes.
• Communicate effectively with clients, understand their requirements, develop concepts, and manage technical planning & implementation.
• Continuously improve the quality and performance of client platforms.
• Creatively develop robust technical solutions to meet client needs.
• Independently resolve or coordinate the resolution of complex technical issues.
• Share knowledge and activities transparently with the team.
• Maintain clean and accurate documentation for installations and configurations.

Your Qualifications

• Education: A completed technical or natural science degree, or an IT-related apprenticeship – practical know-how is key.
• Microsoft System Administration: Significant professional experience in Microsoft server environments.
• Citrix & Virtualization Expertise: Essential expertise with Citrix and other major HA virtualization technologies.
• Windows Server Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft server environments (Windows Server 2016 – Windows Server 2022).
• Microsoft Application Experience: Experience administering Exchange (ideally clustered), MS-SQL, and other Microsoft-based applications.
• Automation (Ideal): Familiarity with automation technologies such as Ansible, SCCM, PowerShell, or similar.
• Language Skills: Very good German (C1 level) in speaking and writing for confident client and team communication.
• Driving License: Class B for occasional client visits (rare).
• Soft Skills: Team-oriented, diplomatic, and solution-focused.

• Limited Citrix knowledge – strong Citrix skills are mandatory.
• Pure Windows generalists without virtualization depth – HA virtualization is the core.
• Candidates lacking client communication skills – you will advise and conceptualize.
• Uncertain German language skills – C1 is required for client interaction.
