About the Role

As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will be instrumental in bringing Samsara's innovative connected operations technology to customers. You'll engage in daily conversations about logistics, fleet management, asset management, system integrations, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a deep understanding of IoT hardware, deployment scenarios, carrier networks, cloud infrastructure, and API integrations to architect and present optimal technical solutions.

This is a unique opportunity to significantly contribute to a key market, collaborating closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Technical Support, and Customer Success teams.

Location & Travel

This role can be office-based in Paris or fully remote within France. Travel is required up to 25% of the time.

Your Responsibilities

  • Master Samsara products, understanding how cutting-edge tech (IoT, AI, computer vision) drives digital transformation.
  • Articulate how businesses leverage Samsara to solve industry-specific problems.
  • Deliver key work products such as discoveries, demonstrations, value assessments, and proof-of-concept implementations.
  • Write scripts against our open API to solve real-world problems and document them for fellow SEs.
  • Act as a trusted consultant to customers, opening doors for deeper account engagement (integration, upsell, cross-sell).
  • Serve as a liaison between Samsara's product and sales teams, translating technical feedback and enrolling customers in beta programs.
  • Partner with sales executives to plan, prepare, and execute transactions in fast-paced sales cycles.
  • Work across multiple levels of the technology stack.
  • Support sales executives with ad-hoc queries and emails.
  • Build relationships with third-party partners (software providers, systems integrators, installation partners).

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in pre-sales, customer success, or customer/product support.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders through technical sales acumen and understanding of business processes/change management.
  • Skill in explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Previous experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
  • Experience with technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, automation, and control systems.
  • Fluent in French.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills for managing multiple accounts and projects.

Ideal Candidate Possesses

  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Work experience in task automation scripting and data transfer using Bash, Python, JavaScript, or equivalent.
  • Experience building solutions leveraging open APIs.
  • Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems (CAN bus, PTO).
  • Hobbyist interest in electronic systems (e.g., car audio, home automation, Raspberry Pi, Arduino).
  • Proven track record of success selling complex technical solutions.
  • Knowledge of MEDDIC/BANT/CoM and/or Value Selling concepts.
  • Experience working with product teams and feature request processes.
  • Fluent in English.
