About the Role

North Spore is looking for an experienced Head of Marketing to be the brand steward during a significant growth phase. This is a leadership position focused on brand-first strategy, creative vision, and deepening customer loyalty. You will lead brand, creative, content, community, and the campaign calendar, working closely with the CEO and leadership team to ensure North Spore's presence is compelling and consistent across all channels.

Key Responsibilities

1. Brand, Creative & Storytelling

  • Own and evolve the North Spore brand end-to-end, including positioning, messaging, voice, and visual identity.
  • Set the creative vision and ensure its consistent application across website, packaging, paid creative, organic content, retail displays, and educational materials.
  • Lead the creative team in producing distinctive, on-brand, and category-leading content.
  • Utilize qualitative insights and performance data to refine creative and storytelling.

2. Campaign Calendar, Promotions & Product Launches

  • Manage the comprehensive marketing campaign calendar, integrating seasonal moments, promotions, product launches, and brand campaigns.
  • Lead the strategy and execution of new product and sub-brand launches across the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with E-commerce and Growth teams to implement the marketing calendar across all channels.

3. Organic Channels, Content & Community

  • Oversee all organic channels, including YouTube, social media (TikTok, Instagram, etc.), and the blog, setting strategy and performance benchmarks.
  • Establish North Spore as a trusted resource for learning, inspiration, and community engagement.
  • Build and scale community initiatives like UGC, creator, affiliate, and ambassador programs.
  • Develop community-led growth loops rooted in education and inspiration.

4. Customer Experience Across DTC, Retail & In-Store

  • Ensure a cohesive and premium brand experience across DTC, Amazon, and retail channels.
  • Own the in-store brand experience, including packaging and displays, in partnership with retail sales.
  • Maintain brand consistency across the website and other owned platforms.

5. Team Leadership & Operations

  • Build and lead a high-performance brand, creative, content, and community team.
  • Partner closely with the CEO and Director of Ecommerce to align brand and growth initiatives.
  • Develop scalable systems and processes for creative quality and brand consistency.
  • Manage the brand, creative, content, community, and campaign budget effectively.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years in marketing leadership with a proven track record of building beloved consumer brands, ideally in DTC or omnichannel categories.
  • Deep expertise in brand strategy, creative direction, and leading creative teams.
  • Exceptional storytelling skills and a keen eye for creative quality across all brand touchpoints.
  • Proven ability to manage a marketing calendar that integrates brand storytelling, promotions, and product launches.
  • Experience building community and earned-media engines (UGC, creators, affiliates).
  • Fluency in modern organic content strategies, particularly YouTube and social media, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.
  • Strong operational skills, including team building, systems development, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Experience across DTC, Amazon, and retail channels, ensuring brand cohesion.
  • Comfort and energy for working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $125,000 - $170,000
  • Benefits include: 401k with employer match, health, dental, vision insurance, short and long-term disability, life insurance, and accident/critical illness insurance.
