This role offers hybrid flexibility with three days per week in our Toronto office.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and deliver cloud computing solutions, hosted services, and underlying software infrastructure to optimize service delivery across production, QA, and development environments.
• Support and troubleshoot scalability, high availability, performance, monitoring, backup, and restores of different environments.
• Evaluate new tools, technologies, and processes to improve speed, efficiency, and scalability.
• Monitor server and application performance using tools like NewRelic, CloudWatch, and Sumologic.
• Partner with application developers on the seamless deployment of software.
• Optimize and enhance infrastructure performance.
• Manage the installation and configuration of solutions.
• Oversee routine maintenance procedures and diagnostic testing.
• Document processes and monitor performance metrics.
• Implement best practices in network administration and cybersecurity.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in DevOps.
• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related IT field.
• Experience in Information Security and Networking.
• Background in Linux (RHEL) based infrastructure.
• Comfortable with command-line tools (Bash, Powershell).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI/CD preferred).
• Experience with building dashboards, configuring, and integrating with infrastructure and application monitoring and alerting tools (AWS CloudWatch, NewRelic).
• Extensive hands-on proficiency in infrastructure configuration management and IAC methodologies and technologies (Terraform preferred).
• Proficiency in common DevOps development languages (Python preferred).
• Experience with automation platforms (Ansible).
• Experience with serverless frameworks (Zappa, Serverless, Chalice).
• Experience building cloud systems supporting microservice architectures (API Gateway, serverless compute, Redis, NoSQL DBs) and legacy client/server architectures (EC2, Docker, Load Balancers, databases).
• AWS experience preferred; AWS Developer or AWS Solution Architect Associate certifications strongly preferred.
• Experience with Java build, packaging, dependency management, and storage systems (Maven, Gradle, Artifactory).
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Cucumber, Robot, Selenium, JMeter).
• Experience creating alerts, dashboards, and configuring log aggregation (SumoLogic preferred).
• Experience with containers and container management systems (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Fargate/ECS).
• Experience with the use of artifacts.
• Experience with deployment strategies.
• Experience with MS SQL, AWS Aurora PostgreSQL Serverless administration/optimization.
• Familiarity with Agile software development lifecycles.
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations for high availability and uptime.
