This opportunity is for a bilingual Senior Consultant (English and French) to join our Corporate Affairs team. You will be energized by business storytelling, media relations, and helping organizations build and protect their reputation across Canada's diverse media and stakeholder landscape. You will work closely with colleagues and clients across various sectors, supporting mandates that require communications in both official languages. Your role will involve delivering thoughtful, high-quality communications programs that support business goals and enhance stakeholder trust. Responsibilities

  • Monitor the North American news landscape and identify relevant issues, opportunities, and emerging conversations for clients.
  • Develop compelling media pitches, story ideas, and angles tailored for business, financial, and consumer media in both English and French.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and other key external stakeholders.
  • Support corporate affairs program activations, including executive thought leadership, speaking opportunities, sponsored content, and sponsorships.
  • Manage day-to-day client interactions with professionalism, responsiveness, and sound judgment.
  • Propose ideas and recommendations to address client challenges and advance communications objectives.
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of key accounts, including timelines, project trackers, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment.
  • Mentor and support junior team members by sharing skills, experience, and perspective.
  • Support new business efforts through research, competitive analysis, stakeholder assessment, and proposal development.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of experience in client service and/or corporate communications, with exposure to multiple sectors (e.g., corporate, financial, healthcare, food).
  • A genuine interest in business and current affairs, with a strong understanding of key corporate and financial media.
  • Excellent writing skills in French and English, with the ability to adapt tone and messaging for different audiences and platforms.
  • Experience developing media pitches and securing coverage through compelling story angles and relationship-building.
  • Experience working within integrated communications programs, understanding the connection between earned media and owned, paid, social/influencer, and sponsored content.
  • Understanding of business-to-consumer PR programs.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with diverse colleagues and clients.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a calm, thoughtful approach to challenges.
  • Ability to anticipate needs and stay organized in a busy environment.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • A desire for continuous learning, growth, and skill development.
  • A passion for building and supporting team culture.
  • Understanding of budget management and account administration.
  • A bachelor's or graduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada indefinitely.
