Avery Dennison Label and Packaging Materials🌍 Remote WorldwideEstimated: $80,000 - $120,000

DevOps Engineer

Company: Avery Dennison

About The Role:
We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer who wants to make things run smoother, faster, and smarter. Someone who loves clean automation, resilient systems, and the feeling of pushing a deployment knowing it just works. You’ll join our Software Innovation team, working directly inside a product team to help us hit DORA-level excellence — faster delivery, higher reliability, fewer surprises. You’ll help modernize legacy systems still running on manual processes, and shape how our cloud-native platform scales and evolves.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of production and development environments both older, self-hosted systems and modern cloud setups to drive automation and reliability.
  • Turn complex manual steps into simple, repeatable, automated flows and CI/CD pipelines to get code to production quickly and safely.
  • Own high-impact data and system changes in production, implementing automation and guardrails to make workflows predictable and low-risk.
  • Integrate practical security improvements into tooling and workflows, ensuring deployment scripts are safe and removing risky manual steps.
  • Work closely with global teams to handle urgent releases and bake SOC2 compliance practices directly into automation and process design.

Qualifications:

  • Solid experience in DevOps, SRE, or Systems Engineering, ideally across different types of environments (7 years+).
  • Deep experience with cloud environments, particularly Azure, including the design and management of scalable, cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Strong background in automation and CI/CD using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Comfortable scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to reduce manual toil and improve system maintainability.
  • Experience managing databases in production, including schema updates, data migrations, and observability tooling.
  • Experience in .NET/C# and web development (React, Angular) to collaborate more closely with our engineering teams is a plus.

Additional Information:

What we offer:

  • Time Off: Enjoy 6 weeks of vacation days from the start.
  • Flexible Work: Benefit from 100% home-office/remote work across Croatia.
  • Additional Benefits: Option to activate a MultiSport card and enrollment in the 3rd pillar pension fund.
  • Continuous Development: Access to all AD Learning & Development programmes for the EMEA region. Our competency model guides your path; with assessments and feedback, you can create a tailored development plan.
  • Well-being & Community: Access to Lyra, our confidential Employee Assistance Program.
  • Community Engagement: Opportunities to participate in volunteer activities.
