What You'll Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Technical Recruiters and Sourcers focused on AI/ML, Specialized Tech, and Engineering Leadership hiring.
  • Set and drive team goals focused on pipeline quality, conversion rates, time-to-fill, and candidate experience.
  • Partner with Engineering stakeholders to translate hiring needs into sourcing and assessment strategies.
  • Maintain clear visibility into pipeline health and communicate risks and recommendations to the Director of Technical Recruiting and leadership.
  • Champion recruiting process quality by driving consistency in interviews, calibration, and offer strategy.
  • Develop and refine frameworks for evaluating candidates in specialized and leadership-level technical roles.
  • Contribute to recruiting enablement and new team member onboarding.
  • Partner with Recruiting Ops, Compensation, and Finance on headcount planning, tooling, and capacity modeling.

Where You'll Work

This role is based in our San Francisco office. We operate a hybrid environment, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility. We require a minimum of three coordinated in-office days per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday). As a perk, we offer up to four weeks of fully remote work per year.

Responsibilities

As Senior Manager, Technical Recruiting, you will lead the team responsible for some of Brex’s most critical hiring – AI/ML, Specialized Tech, and Engineering Leadership. You will own the end-to-end health of your function’s pipeline: setting team goals, driving conversion, and identifying risks before they become blockers. You will partner directly with Engineering leadership to translate business priorities into sourcing and assessment strategies, and bring rigor to candidate evaluation for specialized and senior technical roles. This role emphasizes both hitting targets and developing people – coaching recruiters to enhance their skills, provide sharper feedback, and build stronger relationships with the leaders they support. Requirements

  • 7+ years of technical recruiting experience in high-growth or venture-backed tech companies.
  • 2+ years of people management experience leading technical recruiting teams.
  • Demonstrated experience hiring for specialized technical roles (AI/ML, Infrastructure, Platform, Security, or similar).
  • Track record of developing recruiters, including providing direct feedback, conducting 1:1s, and building high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical instincts; comfortable interpreting pipeline data and translating it into actionable insights.
  • Experience as a strategic partner to Engineering or senior technical leadership.
  • Ability to operate with autonomy and manage ambiguity in a fast-moving, evolving organization.

Bonus Points

  • Experience hiring Engineering Leadership or Staff+ talent.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML talent markets and sourcing strategies for applied ML or research roles.
  • Experience navigating recruiting in a post-acquisition or organizational integration context.
  • Proficiency with Greenhouse, Gem, LinkedIn Recruiter, or similar tooling.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $170,000 - $210,000 USD. The starting base pay will depend on factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of the total compensation package.
