About Hazel
Hazel is building the AI engine for wealth management, unlocking 10x growth, efficiency, and value for financial advisors. As part of Altruist's mission, Hazel has rapidly grown its user base since its launch.
The Opportunity
Hazel is a fast-growing AI product in wealth management. We're hiring a Growth Product Manager to own the Product-Led Growth (PLG) engine end-to-end: advisor discovery, sign-up, activation, retention, team invites, monetization, and expansion. You will be the DRI for the full user lifecycle, defining growth strategy, metrics, running experiments, and shipping loops that convert advisors into power users, paying customers, and advocates. This is a rare chance to build the growth function from the ground up within a category-defining AI product.
Your Impact
- Own the full PLG funnel (sign up, onboarding, activation, retention, sharing, monetization, expansion). Define stages, instrument them, identify leaks, and ship experiments.
- Make activation a science: Define a great first session and design/ship in-product experiences to deliver value quickly.
- Build viral and team-based growth loops: Find sharing moments, design referral/invite mechanics, and turn customers into distribution channels.
- Drive monetization: Partner on pricing, packaging, paywalls, and upgrade paths to increase free-to-paid conversion, ARPU, and expansion revenue.
- Stand up the Hazel customer community: Create a space for advisors to share workflows, templates, and wins, using it for retention, feedback, and top-of-funnel growth.
- Partner deeply across teams: Work with Sales and Marketing on segmentation, demand generation, and value proposition. Collaborate with Design and Engineering on user experiences.
What You Bring
- 7+ years in product, with at least 3 years owning growth at a consumer or PLG product company that has scaled meaningfully. Ability to speak to specific shipped experiments that moved metrics.
- A rigorous mind: Ability to decompose vague business goals, identify leverage points, and design tests.
- A bias to execution and velocity: Prioritize shipping directionally correct experiments quickly.
- Fluency with data: Ability to write SQL, navigate analytics tools (e.g., PostHog), and perform necessary analysis. Judgment to balance data with intuition.
- Excellent product taste and craft: Care about user experience details; understand growth and quality are not in tension.
- Strong written and verbal communication: Ability to rally cross-functional teams.
Bonus Points
- Experience scaling a B2C or prosumer product from early stages.
- Experience with PLG motions in regulated industries (fintech, health, legal).
- Experience building or scaling a customer community as a growth and retention surface.
- Background working with AI-native products and shaping user interaction with AI.
- Founder, founding PM, or first-growth-hire experience.
What We Bring
- Hybrid Work Schedule: Promotes strong in-person collaboration.
- Office Spaces: Stunning, amenity-filled offices in Culver City, CA, San Francisco, CA, and Dallas, TX.
- Compensation: Competitive pay and equity (Stock Options - ISOs) for eligible positions.
- Healthcare: Premium healthcare, dental, and vision insurance plans (HMO and PPO).
- Retirement: 401k savings plan with a 4% match and immediate vesting.
- Leave: 16 weeks paid parental leave after one year of employment.
- Development: Professional growth opportunities, employee mobility program, annual L&D budget.
- Perks: Company perks program (discounts on pet insurance, fitness, cell phone plans, travel, etc.).
- Financial Guidance: Program includes counseling on debt, spending, savings, and home-purchasing preparedness.
- Work from Anywhere: One month policy (with exceptions).
Total compensation includes benefits and equity. Salary offers are based on experience, skill level, internal pay equity, geographic location, and other business considerations. Base salaries are reviewed regularly.
