Quality Assurance Engineer (m/f/d) - Metrology

CONCAPE is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer with a focus on metrology to join a precision manufacturing environment. This role is crucial for ensuring dimensional quality from KMG (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programming to the strategic alignment of measurement technology. You will be the key liaison between metrology, manufacturing, and supplier quality, guaranteeing that complex high-tech components meet the tightest tolerances.

About the Role

As the overall responsible person for dimensional quality, you will translate CAD-based inspection concepts into automated measurement programs and drive continuous improvement within production and the supply chain. This is an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to high-precision manufacturing.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the offline creation and optimization of KMG measurement programs (Mitutoyo) based on CAD models.
  • Conducting tactile and scanning 3D measurements and ensuring operators can perform these measurements independently and correctly.
  • Supporting deviation and improvement processes, providing measurement and process support in-house and at suppliers.
  • Fostering teamwork and knowledge sharing in measurement and manufacturing technology across all departments.
  • Assisting with new product introductions, creating product-specific manufacturing inspection plans, and performing initial measurements.
  • Applying statistical methods (SPC) using appropriate tools and software (Q-DAS) to control and continuously improve manufacturing processes.

Your Qualifications:

  • Several years of experience in coordinate metrology and KMG programming, ideally on Mitutoyo systems, including optical inspection systems.
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings with form and positional tolerances (GD&T).
  • Technical basic training and practical experience in machining, along with material knowledge, especially aluminum and stainless steel.
  • Good knowledge of relevant measurement standards; further training in ISO GPS is an advantage.
  • Strong team player with cross-departmental collaboration skills; very good German and good English language skills.
  • High degree of independence, with the ability to provide technical support and guidance to KMG operators.
  • Experience in Model Based Definition (MBD) is a plus.

Benefits:

  • Comprehensive support throughout the hiring process, from initial contact to contract signing directly with the client.
  • Relocation assistance for non-residents.
