The Position

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for the work of your team, acting as their spokesperson and fostering an environment for optimal execution. You will manage team dynamics and help individuals reach their full potential, actively participating in product development alongside your team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers (backend and frontend).
• Dedicate approximately 30% of your time to management tasks, with the remainder actively participating in product development.
• Be involved in hiring processes for your team and potentially assist peers.
• Be responsible for the onboarding process of new engineers.
• Manage team dynamics and bring out the best in team members.
• Provide continuous and constructive feedback.
• Facilitate the team's continuous growth and be responsible for each direct report's career development.
• Provide guidance and coaching to the team.
• Redesign engineering workflows using autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
• Propose and operationalize agentic workflows end-to-end (spec → plan → execute → verify) for faster delivery.
• Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives for repeated application across domains.
• Utilize verification loops (tests, checks, evaluations, guardrails) to ensure correctness, security, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

• Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
• Extensive experience with Backend technologies (Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming).
• Commitment to promoting Remote’s values.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
• Practical experience designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows and iterating to improve them.
• Systems thinking: ability to define clear specs, break down plans, instrument verification, and ensure quality.
• Solid communication and organizational skills.
• Strong understanding of engineering and development principles and best practices.
• Focused on efficient, people-first processes.
• Ability to inspire others and instill confidence.
• Good understanding of team dynamics.
• Ambitious and intentional about diversity, equality, and inclusion.
• Demonstrates strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.

Compensation

• Annual salary range: $7,540—$169,700 USD
