Pricing Strategist

Houst, a professional property management service, is seeking a detail-oriented Pricing Strategist to join our Cape Town team. We leverage technology to simplify the short-term accommodation sector, partnering with thousands of hosts across 20+ cities globally. Your role will be critical in optimizing property pricing to drive revenue growth, improve occupancy rates, and maximize RevPAR.

About the Role

As a Pricing Strategist, you will develop and implement pricing strategies, monitor property performance, and analyze market trends to optimize occupancy and revenue. You will also track competitor pricing to ensure our properties remain competitive.

Responsibilities

Pricing Strategy

• Develop and implement pricing strategies that optimize occupancy and revenue.
• Monitor property performance and recommend price adjustments based on demand and market trends.
• Track competitor pricing to ensure our properties remain competitive.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Analyze large datasets covering revenue, occupancy, and RevPAR.
• Interpret models and algorithms to identify pricing optimization opportunities.
• Produce clear reports for the pricing and revenue management teams.

Revenue Maximisation

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve revenue management.
• Identify patterns that maximize client returns.
• Support decision-making with data-backed recommendations.

Market & Competitor Analysis

• Conduct regular market analysis to identify emerging trends.
• Adjust strategies proactively in response to market shifts.

Requirements

• Strong ability to collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets accurately.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
• Proactive approach to improving performance and adapting strategies.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, able to present complex data simply.
• Experience with pricing algorithms, revenue management systems, and dynamic pricing tools.
• Proficiency in Looker and SQL.
