Senior Accountant

Gemini is seeking a dynamic Senior Accountant to join our innovative Finance team. As a key player in a regulated digital asset exchange, you will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of financial reports and data supporting various legal entities. This role is central to our continued scaling and commitment to transparency in public company reporting.

The Department: Finance

Our Finance and Accounting teams are thought leaders in digital asset accounting and reconciliation, bridging traditional finance with the innovation of cryptocurrency products.

The Role:

You will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP and internal policies. This role offers a broad remit across technical accounting, multiple locations, and GL operations, reporting directly to the Controller.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end close.
• Account for digital asset transactions, customer custodial funds, revenue recognition, and other areas.
• Analyze financial statement fluctuations and trends, providing insightful commentary.
• Assist with the preparation of annual and quarterly footnote disclosures.
• Support internal and external audit requests with timely documentation and analysis.
• Identify process improvements and help implement scalable accounting practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and account for new transaction types.
• Contribute to special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally including public accounting and/or industry experience.
• Big 4 accounting firm experience is a plus.
• CPA (or equivalent license).
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Experience with fintech, digital assets, or financial services is a strong plus (but not required).
• Proven ability to manage competing deliverables and meet deadlines.
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, changing financial environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Salary Range:

• $92,400 - $132,000 in New York (base salary, exclusive of bonus and equity).
• Compensation is determined by skillset, experience, job scope, and market data.

Work Approach:

• Hybrid work approach in hub offices in the United States, balancing in-person collaboration with remote flexibility. Remote employees not near a hub are part of the remote workforce.
