About the Role

PerfectServe is seeking a high-performing and opinionated Python with .NET/C# developer to join our team. As a Software Engineer, you will be a technical leader responsible for writing highly performant, well-structured, and well-tested code. You will enhance and maintain web services and background workers within an Agile team, acting as the domain expert. This role involves collaborating on the design and development of services, ensuring feature delivery, adhering to code quality standards, and mentoring junior team members. You will lead the development and maintenance of several Python and C# API services that support client-facing UI services.

What You’ll Do

  • Debate, design, implement, and deliver user stories on time and with high quality within an Agile development lifecycle.
  • Solve complex problems as part of a team.
  • Write code to established standards and implement best practices.
  • Identify and communicate technical debt and risk, and effect resolutions.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners in Release/Iteration planning.
  • Develop, design, and document solutions based on business requirements.
  • Review code for testability, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
  • Mentor junior members of the team.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with Python and Django
  • 2+ years of experience with C#, the .NET Framework, and/or .NET Core
  • 1+ years ASP.NET Web API
  • Expert-level knowledge of RESTful Web API patterns
  • Expert-level knowledge in .NET data access frameworks (ADO.NET, Dapper, EF, etc.)
  • Advanced-level knowledge of MSSQL and structuring data for query optimization
  • Strong Unit and Integration Testing techniques
  • Strong understanding of the software development process
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Some experience with build and deploy tools (Jenkins, GitLab)
  • Experience with Git
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate with business and QA staff
  • Technically strong in Web design patterns and best practices
  • Firm leadership skills, including communication of technical risk and debt
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
  • Ability to perform under tight deadlines

Beneficial Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent education
  • Experience reverse engineering legacy Python or .NET services and complex MSSQL stored procedures and functions
  • Experience with ASP.NET Core, .NET 5, or .NET 6
  • Some experience with RabbitMQ, New Relic, Cloud (AWS, Azure, or other), React/Typescript
  • Comfortable working with collaboration tools such as Slack, JIRA, Confluence

Compensation

The salary range begins at $120K - $140K USD. Final compensation is structured individually based on scope and experience.
