The Position

As a Technical Application Scientist (TAS), you will be central to delivering a world-class customer experience, with a focus on technical troubleshooting and general platform inquiries. As a key member of the Application Support Team, you will assist in the development and continuous improvement of commercial processes and strive to ensure customer success. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Field Application Scientists (FAS), Bioinformatics Application Scientists (BAS), Research & Development, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure cohesive and expeditious customer outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to customer inquiries and global distributors regarding product information and troubleshooting within the global Application Support team.
  • Log, manage, and report customer support inquiries through multiple channels (CRM, support platforms, email).
  • Escalate and resolve customer troubleshooting cases to provide timely solutions for Field Application, R&D, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Sales teams.
  • Act as the Voice of the Customer (VOC), distilling, quantifying, and representing customer feedback to internal teams to advocate for the user experience.
  • Lead in-house and virtual technical product trainings for Sales and Support teams.
  • Create educational and instructional content for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay current with advancements in single-cell genomics and report on market shifts to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a BA/BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Genetics.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a customer-facing role supporting genomics products.
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing platforms, library preparation, cell culture, and RNA-Seq.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite (Mail, Calendar), CRM (e.g., Hubspot, Salesforce), and ideally Monday.com (or similar project management tools).
  • Knowledge of gene expression data analysis, analysis tools, and basic command line knowledge is highly desired.

Job Conditions

  • This is a home office-based position requiring a reliable internet connection and suitable workspace.
  • Regular communication and collaboration with customers and team members will occur virtually.
  • Travel may be required occasionally for conferences, meetings, or training at the company headquarters in Seattle.
  • This position requires extensive computer use.
  • Ability to work in and around a laboratory environment when needed for training at HQ.
