Overview
We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst with strong analytical and hands-on data capabilities, coupled with excellent communication skills to translate business needs into actionable insights. You will partner with business, product, data, and technology teams to define analytical outputs, requirements, and process improvements. This role is ideal for individuals experienced in requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and business process analysis, particularly with domain expertise in wealth management, asset management, or institutional trading. You will also support portfolio-level initiatives, analyzing business value, assessing dependencies, and contributing to governance and prioritization discussions.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Lead structured requirements sessions, translate business needs into functional specifications, and ensure clarity across cross-functional teams.
- Business Process Analysis: Map current-state and future-state workflows, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior business partners, advisors, operations, and technology teams to drive alignment and decision-making.
- Data Exploration & Insight Development: Work hands-on with data to explore, cleanse, validate, and derive insights that support business decisions.
- Portfolio & Prioritization Support: Contribute to prioritization discussions by assessing business value, risk, dependencies, and strategic alignment.
- Executive & Operational Reporting: Support the creation of clear, concise reporting for senior stakeholders, including decision-support materials.
- Cross-Functional Delivery: Partner with product, engineering, and data teams to ensure requirements are understood, implemented, and validated.
- Governance & Program Support: Participate in governance forums, ensuring documentation, traceability, and alignment across initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 8–10+ years in business analysis or analytics-driven roles.
- Strong ability to understand business context and translate it into analytical outputs and requirements.
- Hands-on experience with analytics tools and comfort working with complex datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to "play with data" — explore, cleanse, structure, and validate.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to senior stakeholders.
- Experience working in wealth management, asset management, capital markets, or institutional trading domains.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Solid understanding of business analysis fundamentals, documentation, and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in ALM, Practice Management, or related wealth-management domains.
- Exposure to portfolio governance, prioritization frameworks, or investment decision-support.
- Familiarity with business value assessment, benefits realization, or cost-benefit analysis.
- Experience with program governance, data repositories, or multi-department initiatives.
- Consulting or client-facing background with strong professional presence.
- Quantitative analysis or financial reasoning capabilities.
