The Role
The Research Associate leverages big data, key secondary sources, and core research methods to build and validate numbers in a standardized, transparent, and efficient way. You will play a crucial role in developing global and regional company profiles, adapting forecasting models, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our data estimates.
Duties & Accountabilities:
- Extract and develop non-scalable public domain data (e.g., national statistics, trade data) for use in data estimates.
- Manipulate internal Euromonitor data (e.g., price tracking, digital share of shelf) to add granularity to data estimates.
- Build global and regional company profiles for company and brand data calculations.
- Collaborate with forecasting specialists to adapt models for regional markets, flag conflicts, and validate results against primary research.
- Identify relevant sources, critically evaluate information, recognize research gaps, and take logical steps to find necessary information.
- Commission and oversee in-country analysts for targeted primary research, managing communication, queries, and related administrative tasks.
- Perform data checks throughout data manipulation, run quality control, and provide detailed explanations on sources and data triangulation.
- Analyze large datasets to create meaningful category/country estimates, monitor, review, and clean data for stakeholders.
- Provide explanations and defend research approaches to clients.
- Collaborate with local specialists on client interactions to build and sustain engagement.
- Work closely with other teams providing big data inputs, scalable data sources, and local insights.
