About the Role

As a Claims Governance & Risk Specialist, you will play a key role in strengthening TAL's claims function by embedding strong risk and governance practices. This role enables confident, consistent decision-making, supports proactive risk management, and drives continuous improvement to build trust with customers, employees, and regulators.

In this role you will:

  • Provide risk and governance insights to enable compliant, commercially sound claims decisions.
  • Identify and address risk trends, delivering recommendations to strengthen claims practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement by partnering with stakeholders to uplift processes, controls, and training.
  • Enhance complaints outcomes by analyzing trends and improving resolution approaches and capability.
  • Lead regulatory and audit responses, ensuring high-quality outputs and timely issue remediation.
  • Support the risk culture by helping teams identify, manage, and monitor risk and compliance effectively.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in risk, compliance, or technical claims within a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of life insurance frameworks, claims handling, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to analyze problems and deliver practical solutions that improve processes and outcomes.
  • Confident communicator who can translate technical concepts into clear, meaningful insights.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build strong relationships across all levels.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
