Job Opportunity: Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management
About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and experienced individual to define and own the product vision, architecture, implementation strategy, and roadmap for a suite of healthcare data products focused on the U.S. payer and market access landscape. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare data, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for driving product innovation.
Core Responsibilities
- Product Vision & Strategy: Define and own the product vision, architecture, implementation strategy, and roadmap for a suite of healthcare data products spanning the U.S. payer and market access landscape.
- Roadmap Planning: Drive multi-product roadmap planning, identifying opportunities to extend core data assets into adjacent product lines and new use cases.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Translate complex business needs into actionable product priorities by collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across engineering, content, delivery, and commercial teams.
- Performance Tracking: Define and track product KPIs — including data completeness, fill rates, classification accuracy, refresh timeliness, and client adoption — to inform roadmap prioritization and demonstrate product value.
Extended Responsibilities
- Market Research: Conduct independent market and domain research to stay ahead of evolving payer dynamics, benefit design trends, and regulatory shifts that impact product positioning.
Data Architecture & Governance
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party healthcare data vendors; evaluating data quality, negotiating source activation/deactivation, and ensuring seamless integration of vendor feeds into core product pipelines.
- Data Modeling: Define and govern the data models and classification frameworks that represent complex payer ecosystems, benefit structures, and access relationships by partnering with engineering to ensure precision, scalability, and clarity.
- Data Standards: Establish and enforce data standards, business rules, and classification methodologies that ensure consistency, accuracy, and long-term scalability across products.
Extended Responsibilities
- Integration Requirements: Define integration requirements that allow internal data assets to interoperate seamlessly with diverse third-party healthcare datasets (e.g., formulary, claims, reference data) while maintaining vendor-agnostic principles.
- Product Governance: Design and maintain product governance processes — including refresh cadences, issue resolution workflows, and continuous improvement mechanisms.
- Quality Assurance: Define quality assurance standards and monitoring protocols and work with engineering and analytics teams to implement automated frameworks using SQL, cloud data platforms, and BI tools to proactively safeguard data integrity.
Team Leadership & Talent Management
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional product team — fostering a culture of ownership, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
- Talent Lifecycle: Own the full talent lifecycle — from defining role requirements and designing assessments to interviewing, onboarding, and retaining high-caliber talent.
- Performance Management: Drive performance management with intentionality — delivering structured feedback, managing career development conversations, and recognizing contributions that reinforce a high-performance culture.
Extended Responsibilities
- Innovation Culture: Cultivate a mindset of innovation and learning; encourage experimentation, cross-functional skill development, and adoption of emerging technologies including AI.
Client Engagement & Communication
- Product Authority: Serve as a trusted product authority for internal consulting and commercial teams — translating complex data concepts into clear, actionable guidance for client-facing conversations.
- Issue Resolution: Lead the resolution of complex client-reported data issues — conducting root cause analysis, quantifying business impact, and delivering clear corrective actions.
Extended Responsibilities
- Client Solutions: Manage the design and delivery of client-specific data solutions — balancing customization needs with core product integrity and scalability.
- External Communications: Own external product communications — authoring updates, newsletters, and release notes that keep clients informed on product evolution.
- Internal Enablement: Build internal enablement programs — training consulting and engagement teams on product nuances, interpretation, and effective client storytelling.
Operational Excellence & Innovation
- Process Improvement: Drive operational excellence by standardizing processes, introducing automation, and strengthening governance to reduce risk and improve throughput.
Extended Responsibilities
- Knowledge Management: Build structured documentation, onboarding frameworks, and knowledge repositories that ensure product continuity and reduce single-point-of-failure risk.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in product management, healthcare analytics, or pharmaceutical market data solutions, with at least 3 years focused on U.S. payer/market access data products.
- Deep understanding of the U.S. healthcare payer ecosystem, including PBM structures, benefit design, and market access dynamics.
- Hands-on experience integrating and working with diverse healthcare datasets — including formulary, claims, and reference data. Preferably worked on commercial healthcare datasets such as MMIT, DRG, IQVIA, Symphony and others.
- Strong technical proficiency in SQL, cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake), Excel, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams in distributed or global settings.
- Exceptional communication skills — both written and verbal — with the ability to distill complex data concepts for diverse audiences.
- Strategic thinker with a consultative mindset and strong problem-solving instincts.
- Proven ability to navigate organizational change — including leadership transitions, operating model redesign, and cross-functional alignment.
- Full-cycle talent management experience — hiring, performance reviews, career development, and team culture building.
- Comfort operating at the intersection of product, data, and client engagement — with the judgment to balance competing priorities.
- Familiarity with SaaS/data product commercialization and client contract structures. Exposure to pricing models and revenue impact is a nice-to-have.
Who You Are
- Deeply curious about the healthcare landscape and energized by the complexity of payer ecosystems.
- Think like an owner — taking full accountability for product outcomes, team performance, and client satisfaction.
- Lead with empathy and clarity, creating space for your team to grow while holding a high bar for quality and rigor.
- A natural bridge-builder — equally comfortable in a technical deep-dive with engineers and a strategic conversation with leadership.
- Thrive in ambiguity and can bring structure to undefined problems without waiting for permission.
- A strong communicator who can make complex ideas simple — whether in a client email, a leadership presentation, or a team huddle.
- Value operational discipline but never let process get in the way of innovation.
- Bring a global mindset, navigating cross-cultural teams and time zones with ease and intentionality.
- Invest in your team’s growth — whether through structured mentorship, collaborative workshops, or cross-functional learning sessions that strengthen alignment and cohesion.
