Job Description:
The Claims Portfolio Manager plays a pivotal role in strengthening the integrity and performance of TAL’s claims portfolio, ensuring fair, timely, and trusted customer outcomes. This role transforms portfolio insights into actionable strategies, supporting better decision-making, continuous improvement, and strong governance across claims. Working at the intersection of data, policy, and customer experience, you will contribute directly to TAL’s commitment to doing the right thing.

In this role you will:

  • Enhance portfolio insights by evolving claims data, controls, and visualisations to highlight portfolio health and risks.
  • Drive timely claim outcomes by optimising the tracking of claim activity, milestones, and pipeline management.
  • Strengthen portfolio discipline by improving controls that support claim tidiness and appropriate claim allocation.
  • Improve decision quality by reviewing complex or sub-optimal claims and providing expert strategic guidance.
  • Lift claims performance through coaching, insights, and targeted recommendations to leaders and teams.
  • Ensure data integrity by designing and embedding mechanisms for accurate, reliable claims insights.

Qualifications:

  • Around 3+ years of experience in Life Insurance claims management with a strong understanding of end-to-end claim decision-making.
  • Proficiency in using data to drive outcomes and translate insights into practical improvements.
  • Strong analytical judgment, with the ability to identify risks, solve problems, and improve claim strategies with attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence and support others through coaching, collaboration, and constructive challenge.
  • Deep regulatory awareness, including working knowledge of the Life Insurance Code of Practice, Privacy Principles, and relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated leadership with empathy and integrity, building trust and delivering fair, high-quality, compliant outcomes.
