About the Role:
The Ecology Administrator will play a crucial role in supporting the Ecology Team in the delivery of Habitat Bank creation and management on a national basis. Reporting to the Ecology Director, you will be responsible for organizing key in-person events, minute-taking for leadership and stakeholder meetings, providing logistical and administrative support, and maintaining the internal intranet site. This role requires strong organization, time-management, communication, and collaboration skills, along with engagement with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize conference attendance and training for the team.
  • Organize team PPE.
  • Support in setting up and taking minutes for key leadership meetings and following up on actions.
  • Book hire cars and hotels for group bookings.
  • Support logistics and travel arrangements during survey season.
  • Manage the Ecology team resource planner, ensuring timely updates.
  • Manage the Ecology intranet space.
  • Complete Purchase Orders (POs) for team needs, including soil testing, desk study records, and specialist contractor input.
  • Organize annual company Habitat Bank site visits (4 per year).
  • Organize two whole team get-togethers annually and four management/leadership in-person meetings annually.
  • Organize specific days for stakeholders (e.g., Natural England Day).
  • Provide general secretarial support for the team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the environmental sector is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Organized and self-starting, capable of managing personal schedule, maintaining records, and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to travel for regional site visits and events.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Understanding of local record centres and how to access information is advantageous but not essential.
  • Numerate and computer literate with an understanding of data analysis and manipulation.
