About the Role:

Join Elastic, a leader in the Search AI space, and play a pivotal role as a Consulting Architect. As a trusted technical advisor, you will guide customers through their journey with Elastic, providing technical oversight, knowledge transfer, and enablement. Our customers leverage the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats) for diverse use cases spanning Enterprise Search, Observability, and Security, dealing with data volumes from gigabytes to petabytes. Your problem-solving skills will be challenged by this diverse customer base. Elastic's internal development and mentoring programs will provide opportunities to learn across our products and services, working closely with Professional Services, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and Support teams.

What You Will Be Doing:

As a member of our professional services team, you will deliver Elastic solutions and expertise to drive significant business value for our customers. You will facilitate strategy, roadmap, design, and sizing workshops, advocate for customers, build strong relationships, and exhibit excellent communication skills. Comfort working remotely in a distributed team is essential.

Key activities include:

• End-to-end delivery of innovative Elastic projects.
• Development of proof-of-concepts to showcase the value of the Elastic Stack.
• Driving Elastic solutions adoption and acceleration.
• Data modeling, query development, and optimization.
• Cluster tuning and scaling for fast search and analytics.
• Managing project objectives, requirements gathering, status, dependencies, and timelines to ensure optimal and on-time delivery.
• Collaborating with engineering, product management, and support teams to identify feature improvements, extensions, and product defects.
• Facilitating field feedback to the product teams.
• Engaging with the Sales team to scope opportunities and assess technical risks.
• Mentoring team members and continuously learning.

What You Bring Along:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a consultant, engineer, or architect, with solid experience deploying Elastic solutions or in similar domains.
• Experience with Enterprise projects.
• Experience with monitoring tools that integrate into service management.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or a related engineering field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience delivering and completing professional services engagements.
• Experience as a public speaker on enterprise infrastructure software technology to technical audiences.
• Exceptional ability to work directly with customers to capture, prioritize, plan, and implement solutions aligned with business requirements.
• Understanding and passion for open-source technology.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Strong hands-on experience with large distributed systems and application infrastructure from an architecture and development perspective.
• Knowledge of information retrieval and/or analytics domains.
• Understanding and/or certification in one or more of the following: Kubernetes, Linux, Java, databases, Docker, AWS, Azure, GCP, Kafka, Redis, VMs, Lucene.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Bonus Points:

• Deep understanding of Elasticsearch and Lucene; Elastic Certified Engineer certification.
• Experience working closely with a pre-sales organization.
• Comfort with Ansible, JavaScript, Terraform.
• ECK experience or Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of machine learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
• Proven understanding of Java and Linux/Unix environments, software development, and/or distributed systems.
• Experience and curiosity in delivering or developing product training.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects or documentation.
