About the Role:

Ace & Tate is seeking a Dutch RA qualified Financial Controller to join their transforming finance function at their Amsterdam HQ. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that is moving from a reporting back-office to a function deeply embedded in the business. With a recent migration to a new ERP system (Odoo), the real work of building and shaping the future of finance operations begins. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on designing processes from scratch, improving existing ones, and establishing long-term financial operational strategies.

What Our Financial Controllers Do:

• Redesign Finance Operations: Take ownership of rebuilding and refining core processes including month-end close, controls, and reporting.
• Maximize ERP Value: Drive real value from the new Odoo ERP system through streamlining, automation, and integration.
• Business Partnership: Collaborate with Business Control to embed finance within the business, supporting decisions, business cases, and transactions.
• Own Close & Statutory Reporting: Manage monthly and year-end closes, annual accounts, and audit coordination across key European markets (NL, Germany, Belgium, UK, Spain).
• Technical Accounting: Handle complex technical accounting areas such as transfer pricing, intercompany transactions, purchase price allocation, internal controls, and asset impairment assessments.
• Team Development: Coach and develop more junior colleagues, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.

You Have:

• Dutch RA Qualification: This is a non-negotiable requirement. Candidates with only ACCA, CPA, CA, or DipIFR qualifications will not be considered.
• 5+ years of experience in financial reporting or accounting, ideally with Dutch GAAP exposure. A Big 4 background is a strong plus.
• Strong technical foundation in accounting, tax, internal controls, and financial processes.
• A genuine appetite for building and innovation: You see unfinished processes as opportunities for improvement and are eager to shape new ways of working.
• Curiosity for systems: While Odoo and consolidation tool experience is a bonus, a strong curiosity about systems and automation is key.
• Advanced Excel skills and a keen interest in automation and AI.
• Fluent English and the ability to translate financial complexity into actionable business insights.
• Coaching and leadership skills: You enjoy developing others and are also committed to your own continuous learning.
• Comfort with ambiguity: You are energized by environments where processes are still being defined and are adept at navigating uncertainty.
