What You'll Do

As an Associate Research Scientist within the Knowledge Management (KM) team, you will develop and codify Flatiron's expertise and best practices into effective documentation. This documentation will be leveraged by data users and life science partners to translate real-world data (RWD) into real-world evidence (RWE) more efficiently.

• Domain Expertise: Become a subject matter expert in our EHR-derived RWD capabilities and gain a deeper understanding of industry-standard methodologies for generating rigorous RWE.
• User Enablement: Understand internal data users' challenges to independently develop and deliver KM resources (documentation, webinars, visualizations) that support rigorous analytical planning and statistical analysis.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with diverse teammates (solution managers, oncologists, software engineers) to translate complex data into accessible KM resources tailored to specific target audiences.
• Effective Facilitation: Lead meetings with internal stakeholders, aligning technical approaches with business goals to drive clear, actionable next steps.

Who You Are

• A kind, collaborative problem-solver with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Master’s degree with 2-3 years of industry experience; or PhD (or equivalent) in epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics and outcomes (HEOR) research.
• Experience analyzing observational data (e.g., registries, healthcare claims, electronic health records).
• Effective oral and written communicator skilled at developing technical yet accessible content for diverse audiences.
• Excited about designing pedagogically effective technical documentation, trainings, and supports for scalable data user enablement.
• Familiarity with R (or another programming language with a commitment to becoming proficient in R).
• Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills for managing multiple high-visibility projects in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new information, skills, and procedures.
• Passionate about improving healthcare through technology.

Extra Credit
