  • Build and maintain shared application capabilities, including libraries, services, frameworks, and internal tooling.
  • Establish clear platform boundaries and contracts to avoid service sprawl and reduce cognitive load for product teams.
  • Measure impact using outcomes like developer velocity, onboarding time, reliability, codebase health, and platform adoption.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to team workflows, tools, and development practices.
  • Work with Product and Engineering to sequence and deliver incremental architectural improvements without impacting feature development.
  • Own AI tooling adoption and best practices across Engineering.

Requirements

  • 2+ years managing and mentoring Platform Engineers, with a focus on execution and delivery; 6+ years of total engineering experience.
  • Proven ability to drive team operations, including sprint ceremonies, roadmap planning, and prioritization.

  • Experience as an effective cross-functional partner with Product, Engineering, Machine Learning, and Analytics, aligning work with business goals.
  • Clear, concise communicator capable of translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity, breaking down complex problems, and driving iterative solutions.
  • Committed people leader with a history of coaching talent and fostering a high-performance, inclusive team culture.
  • Travel: Requires travel to NYC headquarters once per quarter.
  • Onsite Expectation: Candidates located within a 75-minute commute of our NYC office are expected to work onsite 4 days/week.
