Business Tax Manager (Partnership Allocations & M&A)

Mowery & Schoenfeld is seeking an ambitious and curious Business Tax Manager with particular experience and expertise in partnership allocations and M&A to join their team. About the Role

This role will advise business clients on navigating complex tax regulations, particularly during mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions. As a Tax Manager, you will operate as a leader and mentor within the Firm, demonstrating the ability to meet client needs with urgency, develop recommendations, maintain client relationships, and provide proactive advice based on your knowledge of tax law.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagements by meeting client needs with a sense of urgency.
• Develop recommendations and maintain client relationships by balancing client needs with other assignments and deadlines.
• Provide proactive advice based on knowledge of tax law, particularly within business tax.
• Demonstrate initiative to creatively solve issues in collaboration with the lead.
• Leverage technology to automate internal and client processes to improve efficiency.
• Act as a mentor to younger staff and work directly with Directors and Partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant discipline.
• 8+ years of tax experience in public accounting, with 2+ years in a managerial role preferred.
• CPA-certified with an active license.
• Expertise in management of business and entity tax compliance and providing knowledgeable review of complex returns.
• Background and experience managing and actively providing advisory and tax solutions to clients.
• Empowered to provide solutions and ideas.

• Exhibits excellent project and team leadership, and communication skills.
• Shares a focus on growth and problem-solving.
