About the Role

As an Engineering Manager for Platform Engineering, you will lead two squads focused on site reliability, cloud infrastructure, observability, and production operations. You'll drive operational consistency, ensure platform scalability, and foster a high-performing, healthy team culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead with technical excellence: Work closely with engineers on high-quality, scalable platform development, staying involved in architecture and system design.
• Drive adoption: Partner with senior engineering leaders and QA to align platform development with product strategy.
• Empower your team: Manage approximately eight engineers across two squads, focusing on their growth, wellness, and building a high-performing team culture.
• Champion innovation: Encourage the use of AI tools and modern technologies to stay ahead of the curve.

Must-Haves

• 5+ years of experience in engineering management, ideally with a background as an individual contributor or tech lead.
• Strong technical background, comfortable architecting complex systems using AWS primitives, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) like Terraform or OpenTofu, and Kubernetes.
• Credible leadership, building trust through technical knowledge and guiding engineers through complex designs.
• Forward-thinking approach, comfortable using AI to improve workflows and excited to help the team adopt new technologies.

Nice-to-Haves

• Broad tech stack knowledge beyond the core stack.
• Previous experience with platform engineering and site reliability.

Compensation

• Base Salary Range: £76,000—£127,000 GBP
• Starting salaries typically fall near the middle of the range.
• Eligible for a long-term incentive (LTI) award.
• Bonuses based on individual and company performance.
