About the Role

Mowery & Schoenfeld is seeking an ambitious and curious Tax or Senior Tax Manager with expertise in private wealth and high-net-worth groups. This role is ideal for someone looking to further develop leadership skills within public accounting while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. You will lead engagements, develop client relationships, provide proactive tax advice, creatively solve issues, leverage technology, and mentor younger staff.

Qualified candidates who can work in-office or hybrid schedules are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagements by meeting client needs with a sense of urgency.
• Develop recommendations and maintain client relationships by balancing client needs with other assignments and deadlines.
• Provide proactive advice based on knowledge of tax law, particularly within the private wealth and high-net-worth group.
• Demonstrate initiative to creatively solve issues in collaboration with the lead.
• Leverage technology to automate internal and client processes for improved efficiency.
• Act as a mentor to younger staff and work directly with Senior Managers and Partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant discipline.
• 7+ years of tax experience in public accounting, with 1+ years in a senior managerial role preferred.
• CPA-certified with an active license.
• Expertise in management of Individual, Gift, Estate, and Trust income tax compliance and review of complex returns.
• Background and experience managing and providing advisory and tax solutions to clients.
• Empowered to provide solutions and ideas.

• Focus on growth and problem-solving.
