The Position
This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a Senior Solutions Engineer within our Remote Build organization. As Remote expands its business, our customers and partners have increasingly complex pre-sales and implementation needs. In this role, you will be responsible for building and scaling Remote Build’s solutions engineering function, ensuring high-quality technical discovery, strong commercial outcomes, and tight alignment with Remote’s product vision — including architecting and implementing AI agent workflows that help customers and internal teams automate and scale how work gets done.
What This Job Can Offer You:
- Direct ownership of a critical growth lever: scaling technical pre-sales and implementation support through a high-performing solutions engineering team.
- The opportunity to shape Remote Build’s product and engineering strategy, operating model, and standards.
- A chance to build foundational programs (enablement, tooling, playbooks) that will scale across the organization.
- Meaningful cross-functional work with Sales, Engineering, Solution Architecture, Product, Partnerships, CX, and Legal.
What You Will Be Doing:
Build and Scale a Solutions Engineering Function:
- Define role profiles and coverage model (segments, regions, product lines).
- Establish a repeatable technical discovery and solution design process.
- Set clear engagement models, roles/responsibilities, and success metrics.
Own Executive Relationships:
- Manage executive relationships with key customer and internal stakeholders, with accountability for:
- Commercial impact (deal support, win rates, cycle time reduction, revenue influence).
- Technical quality (solution accuracy, implementation readiness, customer satisfaction, escalations, continuous improvement).
- Alignment to product vision (AI adoption, roadmap inputs, standardization).
Contribute to Enablement and Competency Programs:
- Define levels, requirements, and maintenance criteria (training, assessments, quality metrics).
- Partner with Solution Architecture to codify technical standards, reference architectures, and best practices.
- Ensure competencies are measurable, auditable, and scalable.
Manage and Scale Solutions Engineering Operations:
- Contribute to the operating rhythm for business reviews/performance reviews with Sales and key stakeholders.
- Establish clear escalation paths and incident learnings.
- Report on team health, coverage, and capability gaps.
Define Product Lines and GTM Strategies:
- Build ADRs and PRDs for potential products.
- Identify and abstract solution spaces.
- Put AI at the forefront of everything we do.
Architect and Implement AI Agent Workflows:
- Translate business processes into agent-enabled workflows (intake, orchestration, guardrails, evaluation).
- Prototype with modern LLM tooling and iterate toward production-grade implementations.
- Design human-in-the-loop patterns, escalation paths, and observability (quality, cost, latency).
- Partner with Engineering and Product to ship secure, reliable agent capabilities (APIs, permissions, data access).
What You Bring:
- Proven experience building and leading a solutions engineering (or equivalent) function, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
- Strong executive stakeholder management skills (internal and external), with a track record of driving outcomes through influence.
- Excellent cross-functional leadership and operational rigor: ability to turn ambiguous goals into repeatable processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical detail into executive-level narratives.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and shipping AI agent workflows (or adjacent automation/orchestration systems), with a pragmatic approach to safety, evaluation, and iteration.
- Domain experience in HR Tech, payroll, HCM, or adjacent industries.
Practicals:
- Team: Solutions Engineering
- Location: Flexible (work effectively across multiple time zones with customers and internal teams).
- Start Date: As soon as possible.
Application Process:
- Interview with recruiter.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: €80,000 - €120,000 EUR (Annual, full-time position). Geo ranges are used to consider geographic pay differentials.
- Benefits: As a global company, benefits vary by country, but common perks include:
