About the Role:

Join NexHealth as one of our first engineers in Canada, based in Toronto or Vancouver, and play a pivotal role in shaping our engineering culture and technical direction. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to tackle complex challenges, including building an open data lake for health records, scaling our DevOps capabilities for exponential growth, and defining the next generation of EHR integrations. You will work on our advanced, real-time healthcare integration API that synchronizes with EHR systems, enabling tech companies and powering our own doctor-facing SaaS product.

What You’ll Do:

• Be one of NexHealth's first engineers in Canada, setting the technical and cultural tone for a growing team.
• Scale our data processing and storage layer from terabytes to petabytes to accommodate our exponentially growing customer base and dataset.
• Build and maintain bidirectional, real-time integrations with dozens of EHRs, with a roadmap to scale to hundreds or thousands.
• Drive improvements to our core systems to enable 100x growth in practices, patients, and developers using our platform.
• Own cross-functional projects end-to-end, from technical design to successful launch.
• Partner with engineering leaders and product managers to define and achieve ambitious engineering goals.

What You’ll Bring:

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, focusing on scalable back-end systems and platforms.
• Deep experience with storage systems, cloud-native services (AWS), and the Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and common DevOps tools and practices.
• A firm grasp of quality and security engineering principles.
• Strong systems-level thinking to understand distributed system components, interactions, and data flows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of bridging technical and business discussions.

Compensation:

• Base Salary Range: $155,900—$219,700 CAD
• Total compensation may include stock options.
