Position Summary:

The Federal Medical Science Liaison (FedMSL) is a field-based scientific professional representing the Medical Affairs organization within federal entities such as the Veteran’s Affairs and Federal Bureau of Prisons. The FedMSL serves as a scientific resource, establishing and maintaining peer-to-peer relationships with scientific and clinical leaders, including Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and major federal stakeholders. You will work throughout a product's lifecycle to ensure safe and effective utilization, serve as a scientific expert to internal colleagues, and address unsolicited requests for medical information.

Specific Duties:

  • Provide disease state awareness, product information, and pharmacoeconomic analyses to managed care organizations, payers, and other formulary decision-makers.
  • Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date scientific expertise of the disease state, clinical information, product data, and competitor landscape.
  • Identify and develop peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs and major federal stakeholders.
  • Present scientific product-related data and disease awareness information in federal, hospital, institutional, and academic settings.
  • Serve as a liaison between healthcare professionals and Braeburn for unsolicited Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs).
  • Address unsolicited requests for medical information from healthcare professionals.
  • Support company-sponsored trials and other research initiatives, including clinical trial site recruitment.
  • Support external healthcare professional Speaker Training and Advisory Board activities.
  • Present training information to internal and external partners.
  • Provide medical booth and session coverage at scientific/medical meetings.
  • Align daily activities with Medical Affairs strategic objectives.
  • Interact proactively and collegially with field-based and internal colleagues.
  • Comply with all company and compliance policies and guidelines.
  • Support internal Medical Affairs projects as requested.

Skills:

  • Relationship-building skills with top-tier medical experts.
  • Business and scientific acumen; ability to communicate complex scientific and clinical information.
  • Understanding of the managed care arena and application of pharmacoeconomic principles is desirable.
  • Teamwork, leadership, timely decision-making, and results orientation.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, team, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to thrive in a virtual environment.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Education/Experience:

  • Advanced degree in a health-sciences related field (PharmD, MD, DO, PhD).
  • 5+ years of previous MSL or relevant pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
  • Experience in addiction medicine preferred.
  • Experience in federal and state medicine preferred.
