About the Role:
As a Senior Software Engineer at Tanium, you will build and maintain best-of-breed products as part of a nimble development team. You will be specifically working on a new service that manages all certificates for our internal services. This position follows the company’s hybrid schedule, requiring employees to work in the office a minimum of three days per week in Addison, TX, or Durham, NC.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (CS Degree preferred).
• Experience:
• Must be eligible to obtain the FedRAMP security clearance at a minimum.
• Proficient with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot).
• 5+ years of industry experience.
• Experience designing and building high-impact, high-performance, scalable, observable, and maintainable backend services and APIs.
• Knowledge of at least one of Golang (preferred), Node.js, Python, Ruby, Rust, or Java.
• Experience with React, Javascript, or TypeScript.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and other infrastructure technology.
• Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like Git and Jenkins.
• Other Attributes:
• Demonstrates sound judgment for balancing rapid development with long-term code maintainability and supportability.
• Believes in the power and necessity of writing automated tests.
• Experienced debugger capable of resolving production issues under pressure.
• Knowledge of a variety of modern software frameworks (server-side & browser-side) and the versatility to learn new tools.

What You'll Get:

• Annual Base Salary Range: $191,000 - $293,000 (actual salary may vary based on location, education, skills, training, and experience).
• Additional Compensation: Equity awards.
