About the Role:
We are seeking a Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate robust data solutions on Palantir Foundry. This is a high-impact, end-to-end role that combines engineering and operations. You will not only ship data pipelines but also own them in production, ensuring reliable, high-quality data delivery. If you excel at solving complex data problems, optimizing large-scale pipelines, and ensuring smooth operations, you will thrive in this role.

What You Will Do:

  • Own production data pipelines end-to-end, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.
  • Build and optimize data solutions using PySpark and Foundry tools for massive datasets.
  • Design and implement monitoring, validation frameworks, and health checks to guarantee data quality.
  • Monitor workflows, troubleshoot issues, and perform incident response with a focus on long-term improvements.
  • Act as the first line of support for data, access, and pipeline issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement automation to prevent recurring problems.
  • Collaborate with Foundry admins, engineers, and business stakeholders on standards and platform improvements.
  • Contribute to best practices in data engineering, governance, and platform usage.

You Will Succeed If You Have:

  • Experience with data engineering / big data ecosystems.
  • Hands-on expertise with PySpark and distributed data processing.
  • Experience working with production data pipelines and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of data quality, monitoring, and governance.
  • Ability to balance development and operational responsibilities.
  • Solid software development skills in Python, focusing on clean, readable, and maintainable code.
  • Experience with testing practices (unit/integration testing, data pipeline validation).
  • Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
  • Familiarity with designing and working with REST APIs.
  • Commitment to code quality, documentation, and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ownership attitude.
  • Experience with Palantir Foundry (or similar platforms) is a significant plus.

Languages:

  • English – Upper intermediate (B2)
  • German - Advantage

Other Criteria:

  • Willingness to learn new technologies.
  • TypeScript, SQL.
  • Good skills in integrating systems and applications.
  • Good understanding of Cloud systems, DevOps concepts, and tooling.
  • Experience with data platform reliability / DataOps practices.
  • Familiarity with automation and workflow orchestration.
  • Exposure to user-facing data applications or analytics tools.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Self-motivated and organized.

Remote working possibility is only available within Slovakia due to European taxation regulation.
