Principal Product Manager - Data Platforms

Toast, a leading restaurant technology platform, is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead two critical data platform teams: the OLAP Platform and the Advanced Analytics Platform. You will own the roadmap for these platforms, which are the backbone of Toast's engineering and analytics ecosystem, enabling faster development and unlocking new analytical capabilities across the company.

The Opportunity:

Your mission is to identify high-leverage opportunities where platform investments can significantly accelerate development velocity. You will craft general-purpose capabilities that multiply the productivity of dozens of teams by partnering with data scientists, ML engineers, backend engineers, product analysts, and fellow product managers.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

• Lead, influence, and contribute across R&D to drive business value for Toast and its restaurant customers.
• Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to drive strategic direction for Toast’s data platforms, enabling the company to solve classes of data problems once.
• Assess tradeoffs and determine how best to meet product team needs while building in a scalable and sustainable way.
• Work effectively in a dynamic environment while focusing on key goals and objectives.

What You'll Need to Thrive (Requirements):

• 6+ years of experience as a product manager for platforms teams, ideally with a strong focus on data.
• Strong knowledge of platform engineering, including experience guiding platform builds or contributing to building them.
• Comfortable working across multiple teams with competing priorities and timelines.
• Familiarity with AI tools, including common LLMs (e.g., Claude Code).
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and product stakeholders to evaluate new technologies and their ability to meet Toast’s data platform needs.
• Strong communication skills, demonstrated through documentation and presentations.
