The Marketing Team:

The Marketing Team drives awareness and adoption across all OpenZeppelin products and services. Working closely with Product, Design, Sales, and Engineering, the team owns messaging, go-to-market strategy, content, and events.

What You'll Be Doing:

As OpenZeppelin's Senior Developer Relations for Canton, you will be the dedicated, senior technical owner of developer adoption for our open-source stack on Canton. Over a 24-month program with quarterly milestones, OpenZeppelin is delivering an audited Daml Contracts Library and a portfolio of production-ready Reference Implementations (DEX, Lending, Cross-Chain Stablecoin, Confidential Auction) to the network. Your mandate is to translate this engineering output into measurable ecosystem adoption, meeting defined milestones. You will operate with significant autonomy as the senior technical face to the Canton Foundation and Digital Asset, working closely with our Daml engineering team and the wider Marketing function. This role reports directly to the Head of Marketing. Your time will be divided across technical content creation, community and event engagement, and ecosystem co-marketing execution:

  • Own end-to-end developer adoption for OpenZeppelin’s Canton stack, accountable for Contracts Library integrations and Reference Implementation deployments.
  • Create technical content (tutorials, guides, Daml examples, video walkthroughs) for each milestone release and maintain Canton documentation.
  • Run quarterly community sessions and provide hands-on coaching at Canton hackathons, conferences, and incubators (estimated 2-3 trips per year).
  • Supply technical substance for co-marketing with partners like ChainSafe, and track adoption signals (integrations, forks, deployments) to report against program milestones.

You Have:

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, or a similar role, with demonstrated end-to-end ownership of a developer-adoption outcome.
  • 1-3+ years of experience working in the blockchain industry, with a strong technical background.
  • A proven record of producing engaging, high-quality technical content and setting content and adoption strategy.
  • Solidity/EVM fluency to bridge to the Ethereum-native developers Canton targets. You will translate familiar EVM patterns into Canton’s Daml-based, privacy-preserving model.
  • Experience delivering technical workshops, presentations, and live coding sessions at conferences and community events.

Nice to Have:

  • Hands-on experience with Daml, Canton, or the Digital Asset ecosystem.
  • Experience with privacy-preserving or UTXO-based architectures.
  • Familiarity with the needs of financial institutions building on-chain.
  • Knowledge of Daml or a strong functional programming background (Haskell, Scala, OCaml, etc.) with the ability to quickly learn new smart contract languages.
  • Experience with ecosystem partnerships or multi-stakeholder technical marketing initiatives.
  • Hands-on coding experience in other relevant blockchain development languages (e.g., Rust, TypeScript).

Logistics:

Our interview process includes a Recruiter Call, Hiring Manager Call, Team Interview, Leadership Interview, a paid work trial, and reference checks. All interviews are conducted via Google Meet.

Benefits:

  • Company in-person gatherings worldwide.
  • Fully remote work.
  • Flexible time off.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • One-time work-from-home equipment stipend (up to $500 USD).
  • Medical insurance coverage.
  • Learning & Development opportunities.
  • Work with a global team in a fast-growing industry.
