Headquartered in Seattle and Barcelona, we are a values-driven, fast-growing tech company focused on building safe and personalized experiences for pets and their owners. We are proud to be recognized as a great place to work and are committed to creating an accessible, inclusive, and welcoming community.
About the Role
As a Sr. Marketing Manager, you will be the architect of Rover's consideration engine, owning the strategic deployment of our brand identity across upper-funnel channels (Linear TV, OTT/CTV, Audio, Podcast, OOH, Programmatic) to drive measurable business impact and growth. This is a "Master of the Craft" role requiring independent operation and leadership in stewarding media investments and pioneering marketing operations.
Your Responsibilities
1. Consideration Strategy & Business Influence
- Strategic Direction: Autonomously drive the long-range strategy for Upper Funnel Channels, focusing on new customer acquisition and measured consideration. Set goals and OKRs for upper-funnel success.
- Planning Leadership: Significantly influence annual planning cycles with deep expertise in media best practices and emerging industry shifts.
- Cross-Functional Bridge: Serve as a model for collaboration, ensuring seamless integration with the Brand team's vision and providing necessary performance-data feedback.
2. Mastery of Upper Funnel Media
- Advanced Channel Stewardship: Demonstrate expertise in Linear TV, OTT, CTV, Audio, OOH, and Programmatic channels, including media buying, negotiation, inventory quality, and placement strategy.
- Complex Agency Orchestration: Manage and coach external agency relationships to meet Rover's high performance standards and hold them accountable to benchmarks.
- Financial Stewardship: Manage large-scale program budgets with accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
3. Measurement Science & Data Optimization
- Marketing Measurement Ownership: Work with Marketing Data Science to develop new metrics and measurement frameworks. Own the interpretation and application of Rover's Media Mix Modeling (MMM) and propose Geo-Uplift tests to prove incrementality of upper-funnel spend.
- Problem Solving: Address complex issues such as signal loss in CTV or optimizing multi-channel attribution in a privacy-first environment.
4. Automation & AI Integration
- Workflow Automation: Identify and execute process efficiencies by automating marketing workflows and operationalizing AI tools.
- Tool Architecture: Architect the appropriate use of AI tools to solve complex business problems.
5. Communication & Mentorship
- Organizational Communicator: Effectively share key information and distill complex media and AI concepts for executive stakeholders.
- Knowledge Dissemination: Establish business rhythms to share findings across the organization and enhance the marketing team's understanding of prioritization and efficiency.
Your Qualifications
- Experience: 10-12+ years of relevant experience in high-scale media strategy with a consumer brand (ideally a two-sided marketplace). Demonstrated expertise in leveraging upper-funnel channels to drive new customers and measure impact.
- AI/Automation Mastery: Demonstrated improvements to workflow automation using Scripts, Python, SaaS tools, and AI. Proven ability to be an AI expert and expand team capabilities. Experience building or implementing AI-driven systems that improved marketing team delivery capacity is a strong plus.
- Measurement Fluency: Hands-on experience with Geo-Uplift testing implementation and tactical actioning of MMM results.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in a quantitative or business field is a plus. Work experience will be considered.
- Holding Agencies Accountable: Experience managing agencies, holding them accountable for results, and managing an RFP process.
- International Experience: Experience managing campaigns in the UK and EU is a plus.
- Collaboration: Ability to work with internal Brand teams and Marketing Data Science, speaking the language of creative and data as needed.
- A Sense of Curiosity: Excitement to learn new things and challenge yourself with new ideas.
