THE ROLE:
We are hiring a Group Strategy Director, an executive leader to serve as the strategic architect of our social media practice. This role balances long-term brand-building with agile, real-time social planning and cultural responsiveness. You will lead the development of integrated cross-channel social ecosystems while maintaining platform-specific strategies. You will manage and elevate a team of social strategists and community managers, and build strong partnerships with social platform representatives.

Reporting to the VP, Strategy, you will partner with Creative Directors on creative concepts and collaborate with paid media and data intelligence teams to ensure ideas are architected for optimization, testing, and measurable business impact across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead the development of comprehensive cross-channel social media strategy roadmaps that balance long-term brand-building with real-time social planning.
  • Partner with Creative Directors and social creative teams to translate brand challenges into inspiring, platform-specific creative briefs.
  • Guide the development of editorial calendars, content frameworks, and always-on social programming.
  • Stay at the forefront of cultural trends and maintain deep cultural fluency across mainstream movements, internet subcultures, and emerging communities.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with social platform representatives (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.) for early access to updates and beta features.
  • Navigate global brand social presence across diverse regional markets, developing frameworks for centralized brand governance with decentralized regional execution.
  • Collaborate closely with paid media teams to ensure organic social strategy aligns with paid activation.
  • Partner with data intelligence teams to define social performance measurement strategies connecting creative quality metrics to business outcomes.
  • Own senior-level client relationships as the trusted social media strategy advisor.
  • Drive thought leadership on emerging social formats, platform innovations, and the creator economy.
  • Manage, mentor, and elevate social strategists and community managers.
  • Establish clear accountability structures and performance metrics across the social strategy team.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 10+ years of social media strategy experience with a proven track record developing and executing strategies across all major platforms, with a minimum of 5 years leading social strategy teams for global brands.
  • Deep platform fluency and cultural expertise, combined with active engagement in mainstream and niche cultural trends.
  • Cross-channel ecosystem expertise with proven ability to build integrated social strategies.
  • Experience with global brands operating across regional markets.
  • Established relationships with social platform representatives.
  • Track record balancing long-term brand-building initiatives with real-time social planning.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing senior social strategists, community managers, and social creative talent.
  • Exceptional client-facing communication skills, with experience advising CMOs and brand leaders on social media strategy.
  • Expertise in social-first creative briefing methodologies.
  • Strong collaborative skills working across paid media and data intelligence teams.
