About the Role

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in financial reporting and work closely with the Assistant Controller to develop and refine new processes and procedures. This position is responsible for various aspects of the company's financial operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Initiate and post journal entries, prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, and resolve any related issues.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for regional offices, including variance analysis.
  • Research accounting guidance and prepare relevant memos.
  • Assist in developing new processes and procedures to enhance month-end close and financial reporting, and improve coordination between property and corporate accounting.
  • Support departmental initiatives to boost efficiency and optimize the utilization of tools, including the newly implemented ERP system.
  • Analyze expenses and assist in budget preparation.
  • Prepare audit-related requests and perform other assigned duties.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Multifamily property accounting experience is preferred.
  • Excellent critical reasoning, quantitative, and analytical skills.
  • Deep understanding of financial concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
