Ice Skating Instructor

About the Role

Join our team as an Ice Skating Instructor and share your passion for skating with students of all ages and levels. This role focuses on teaching recreational ice skating classes with safety and technique as the primary focus, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach ice skating to participants aged 3-18 years old.
• Check-in students and take attendance for scheduled classes.
• Choreograph performance group routines for shows or exhibitions upon request.
• Monitor the safety of rink equipment, ice conditions, and the facility.
• Follow the provided class curriculum and maintain effective class management.
• Evaluate participant skill acquisition and recommend advancement.
• Convey information about Ice Skating programs to the public.
• Develop positive relationships with participants and patrons.
• Attend staff meetings and collaborate with other staff members.
• Act as a positive role model for students.
• Provide motivational support and guidance to participants.
• Actively support risk management protocols to reduce accidents.
• Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices, or conditions to the immediate supervisor.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Age: Must be at least 16 years of age.

• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to interpret instructions and take initiative.
• Ability to adapt to the work environment.
• Experience: Previous coaching experience is preferred.
• Certifications/Licenses:
• CPR, First Aid, and AED required within three (3) months of employment.
• USA Ice Skating SafeSport Certified within one (1) month of employment.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

• Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including standing, bending, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and lifting.
• Exposure to cleaning and disinfecting supplies.
• Exposure to noise and cold temperatures.
