About the Role
We are looking for an Account Manager to take full ownership of a portfolio of existing public sector customers. Your primary focus will be on customer retention, growth, and maximizing long-term value. You will also serve as the key liaison between our public sector clients and Experian's various business units, identifying and delivering new opportunities. This role requires comfort navigating complex public sector environments and procurement frameworks.
Responsibilities
Account Ownership, Retention & Growth
- Manage a defined portfolio of public sector accounts, serving as the primary commercial point of contact.
- Cultivate strong, trusted relationships with customer stakeholders to ensure high satisfaction and contract retention.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans focused on incremental growth, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities. Proactively uncover expansion opportunities aligned with customer objectives, regulatory pressures, and policy changes.
Cross-Business Unit Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Experian business units (data, analytics, decisioning, platform, fraud services) to craft integrated propositions for public sector clients.
- Coordinate specialists, pre-sales, and product teams to design solutions that effectively address customer needs.
- Act as the central coordinator within Experian, ensuring the right capabilities are engaged at the opportune moments to generate new business.
Public Sector Commercial & Framework Management
- Navigate public sector procurement routes, including relevant buying frameworks (e.g., G-Cloud and other compliant methods).
- Guide customers through compliant purchasing processes, ensuring clarity on scope, commercials, and delivery models.
- Liaise with internal commercial, legal, and finance teams to manage contracts, renewals, variations, and extensions.
Revenue & Performance Management
- Achieve revenue, retention, and growth targets for your assigned account portfolio.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting within the CRM system.
- Ensure all activities comply with Experian's governance, compliance, and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in an account management or customer-facing sales role, with a strong focus on selling into the public sector or other regulated environments.
- Demonstrated success in retaining and growing existing accounts, particularly in selling data, software, or platform solutions.
- Experience coordinating multiple internal teams to achieve successful customer outcomes.
- A solid understanding of public sector procurement and buying frameworks, or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and navigate them.
- Experience selling identity and fraud solutions is considered a beneficial asset.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively across Experian to meet customer needs.
