Job Summary
Local Media Buyer, Dallas
RPA is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Local Media Negotiator to join our Dallas team. You will be instrumental in planning, negotiating, and executing media campaigns across local markets. This role involves managing buys across television, radio, streaming, and emerging platforms, ensuring campaigns are delivered efficiently and meet client objectives. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple campaigns effectively.
What You’ll Be Working On
- Execute local media plans across TV, radio, streaming, and emerging platforms.
- Provide strategic viewpoints (POVs) and recommendations for packages, including sponsorships of sports, news, and community events.
- Oversee market (DMA), channel, and daypart budgets aligned with campaign objectives.
- Negotiate rates, placements, and added value with local vendors and station representatives.
- Secure inventory and manage media buys in competitive markets, especially during high-demand periods.
- Develop and maintain media schedules, ensuring seamless campaign execution.
- Monitor campaign delivery, pacing, and performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Track ratings, impressions, and cost metrics (CPP, CPM, etc.) to optimize campaign performance.
- Analyze Nielsen data and market-level trends to inform strategic decision-making.
- Proactively identify underperformance and implement mid-flight campaign adjustments.
- Manage post logs, affidavits, and invoice reconciliation; secure makegoods and address under-delivery as needed.
- Cultivate strong vendor relationships while ensuring accountability for performance.
- Collaborate with strategy, account, finance, and traffic teams for integrated campaign execution.
- Communicate campaign updates, insights, and recommendations clearly to internal teams and clients.
How You’ll Excel In Your Role
- 2–5+ years of experience in local media buying.
- Experience with local broadcast TV, cable, radio, and/or digital platforms.
- Strong understanding of media metrics and measurement tools (e.g., Nielsen).
- Proven negotiation skills and experience working with vendors.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently while ensuring management is informed or engaged when necessary.
- Capacity to manage multiple markets and campaigns simultaneously.
- Proficiency in media buying tools (e.g., MediaOcean, Nielsen NLTV) and Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, CoPilot, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex data.

Compensation
The salary range for this exempt role is up to $71,000 per year, based on experience, skills, and overall fit. Compensation is determined thoughtfully and competitively, focusing on fairness, internal equity, and market alignment. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for RPA’s comprehensive benefits package and growth opportunities within the agency.
