About the Role

As an Enterprise Sales Engineer, you will be the technical cornerstone of sales engagements, providing deep product knowledge through presentations, demonstrations, and Proof of Value (POV) support. You will collaborate closely with the sales team to qualify and close opportunities, while also channeling customer and competitor insights back to the product team to prioritize feature development.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with the Sales team to articulate Datadog's overall value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers.
  • Own the technical engagement with customers during the trial phase, communicating Datadog's value and addressing any identified issues or concerns to ensure successful adoption.
  • Technically close complex opportunities by leveraging advanced competitive knowledge, technical skill, and credibility.
  • Deliver product and technical briefings and presentations to potential clients.
  • Maintain accurate notes and feedback in CRM regarding customer input, including both wins and losses.
  • Proactively engage and communicate with customers and Datadog business/technical teams regarding product feedback and the competitive landscape.

Who You Are

  • Passionate about educating customers on observability risks relevant to their business and capable of building and executing evaluation plans with clients.
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate both the business benefits (value proposition) and technical advantages of Datadog's offering.
  • Experienced in programming/scripting with languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.JS, PHP, and .NET.
  • Minimum of 3+ years in a Sales Engineering or DevOps Engineering role.
  • Able to sit for up to 4 hours and travel to and from client sites.
  • Able to travel via auto, train, or air up to 45% of the time.
