Join Ignitis Renewables as a Senior C&I Automation Engineer!

Ignitis Renewables is seeking an experienced Senior C&I Automation Engineer to support its growing portfolio of renewable energy projects.

Your Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for automation, control, communication, and monitoring system design, including grid compliance and renewable asset integration.
  • Provide technical expertise during project development, optimizing control system architectures, communication concepts, and cybersecurity posture.
  • Offer technical assistance during project construction, commissioning, and grid compliance testing phases, supporting contractors and reviewing deliverables.
  • Deliver technical support during operations and maintenance, driving asset reliability, performance optimization, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Maintain relationships with OEMs, EPC contractors, and utilities to ensure technical solutions meet standards and business objectives.
  • Lead design reviews and engineering approvals, ensuring optimal automation architectures and compliance with grid codes.
  • Represent the company in technical leadership roles during negotiations with TSOs, DSOs, and contractors.
  • Act as a technical expert and advisor to Operations & Maintenance teams, supporting continuous improvement and lessons learned implementation.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of engineering experience in automation, control systems, renewable energy projects, or related industries.
  • Proven experience with Power Plant Controllers (PPC), Hybrid Power Plant Controllers (HPPC), SCADA systems, PLCs, RTUs, and industrial communication networks.
  • Excellent understanding of grid codes, TSO/DSO requirements, ancillary services, and control system architectures.
  • Technical expertise in industrial communication protocols (IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-101/104, Modbus, OPC UA).
  • Strong knowledge of automation system design, cybersecurity, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Strategic and results-oriented mindset with the ability to analyze complex challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).
