Associate General Counsel (Healthtech)

What We're Looking For

We are hiring an Associate General Counsel with high potential who is excited to grow with the business. Healthcare experience is strongly preferred – lived experience in the regulatory and commercial complexity of healthcare infrastructure, payers, providers, or healthtech is ideal. As the second attorney on the team, you will get to own a broad variety of complex and critical legal matters for a rapidly growing company in a highly regulated space. You’ll work closely with the Head of Legal and regularly partner with company leadership and teams across the business. You’ll also scale and improve the processes and tools that let a lean team move quickly while operating comfortably within our risk profile. If you bring excellent judgment and work ethic, strong writing, and the ability to translate legal expertise into business strategy, we want to talk – especially if you’re eager to use AI and other technology to raise the quality and speed of the work.

What You'll Do

• Serve as a strategic partner across Stedi, utilizing legal and regulatory expertise to advance business interests, accelerate deals, and remove obstacles.
• Collaborate closely with the Head of Legal to manage all of Stedi’s legal needs, with a significant opportunity to shape the role as the second legal hire in a fast-growing company.
• Own customer contracting processes from initial review through signature, working with the Head of Legal to automate standard agreements.
• Drive payer trading partner agreements and key vendor agreements to timely and compliant closure within Stedi's risk profile.
• Act as Product Counsel for world-class engineers and PMs developing innovative offerings in a highly regulated environment.
• Improve, expand, and automate playbooks and workflows to enhance legal operations.
• Take on new legal areas based on evolving business needs and personal interest.

Who You Are

• Bar-admitted and ready to assume a role with broad ownership.
• Possess healthcare experience, gained through BigLaw or in-house roles.
• Capable of explaining complex issues in plain language, writing clearly, and communicating confidently with diverse stakeholders including executives, lawyers, regulators, procurement staff, and engineers.
• Comfortable managing high-volume work and shifting priorities while maintaining high quality through effective systems and habits.
• Able to thrive in ambiguity, create structure from chaos, and independently design scalable processes.
• Exhibit strong business acumen, blending legal rigor with strategic persuasion.
• Relentless and resourceful, with a professional and integrity-driven approach to follow-up, escalation, and task completion.
• Operate with speed and precision, thriving in an environment where clarity, accountability, and urgency are paramount.

Compensation

The annual compensation range for this role is $250K-325K. This range may include multiple experience levels and will be adjusted based on factors such as candidate experience, location, and qualifications.
