The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated Strategic Account Director (SAD) to aggressively expand our Event Production footprint within Fortune 5000 companies. This is a pure Business Development role for a driven hunter who thrives on building a book of business from the ground up, as this position does not receive inbound opportunities. You will be responsible for securing $1M+ opportunities with brands that execute multiple events annually, acting as the crucial link between a client’s creative vision and our technical production capabilities. This role involves guiding cross-functional teams to deliver multi-million dollar event programs and requires approximately 30% travel to build relationships and close deals.
Your Mission
- First Year Benchmark: Close $1M in new business within the first 12 months.
- Outbounding Excellence: Build your pipeline through strategic outreach, industry networking, and leveraging deep-rooted relationships, with a proven track record of success driven by zero inbound leads.
- Strategic Hunting: Sell solutions, not just services, by understanding client organizational politics and navigating complex decision-making hierarchies.
- Field Presence: Spend significant time engaging with clients in person (at least 30% travel) to build relationships, attend industry events, and close deals.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Closing Deals: Qualify, pitch, and close multi-million dollar event programs.
- Full-Cycle Ownership: Manage the entire sales process from initial contact through contract negotiation and ensuring flawless initial execution.
- Pipeline Engineering: Continuously identify and pursue clients with global event needs and high-frequency event calendars.
- Relationship Architecture: Build strong personal and professional bonds with top-tier meeting planners and C-suite stakeholders.
What We Need
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in building a book of business from scratch, with a history of managing $10M+ in lifetime event revenue.
- Agency Experience: 5+ years of experience in the Event Industry, preferably agency-side.
- Established Relationships: High-level relationships within our target sectors: Pharma, FinServ, Tech, and Consulting.
- Strategic Acumen: Ability to align client business goals with technical production realities.
- Grit & Initiative: Proactive and self-motivated, identifying targets and pursuing them independently.
What We Offer
- True Autonomy: Freedom to pursue business opportunities with your own creative approach.
- Uncapped Earning Potential: Competitive compensation with no limit to earnings for successful hunters.
- High-Performance Culture: Supported by expert Production and Project Managers to ensure world-class execution.
- Tight-Knit Team: Collaborative environment with a team of 90 professionals.
