Job Description

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Industry division. You will undertake various project management and engineering management tasks in large EPCM or Detail Engineering projects. Your work will involve driving projects in accordance with the AFRY EPCM model and governing documents, ensuring delivery excellence.

Work Tasks Include:

  • Engineering and project management across different phases of industrial projects.
  • Ensuring project delivery in line with the AFRY EPCM model and governing documents.
  • Leading, coaching, and coordinating the Project Management Team and cross-discipline leads (engineering, procurement, construction), including resource planning and competence assurance.
  • Establishing and running robust planning, reporting, and cost control processes.
  • Driving effective change management and reporting of deviations.
  • Leading proactive risk & opportunity management and maintaining the risk register.
  • Maintaining strong communication and stakeholder management, including client interfaces, partner/supplier negotiations, and steering-group reporting.
  • Ensuring high quality and HSE&S standards are upheld throughout all project phases.
  • Documenting and sharing lessons learned within the project organization.

Your main work location will be in Vantaa, but working at other AFRY offices is also possible.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. (Tech.) or equivalent degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in multidiscipline Detail Engineering and/or EPCM projects.
  • A safety-oriented attitude.
  • Excellent co-operation, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead large, multidisciplinary, and global teams and resolve complex conflict situations.
  • Knowledge of different engineering disciplines and understanding of multidisciplinary work requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Earned Value Management.
  • Understanding of project and engineering management and project controls tools and practices.
  • Participation in Sales and Development is expected, so sales and an entrepreneurial attitude are appreciated, along with the possibility to travel in Finland and abroad.
  • Fluency in Finnish and English.

  • Experience in industry projects such as mining and metals or the chemical process industry.
  • Experience working in a start-up or new technology environment.
